Biography

Beth Hackney has been a practising disputes lawyer for 13 years in the Asia Pacific region, with her time split almost evenly between Australia and Hong Kong. She has been privileged to have worked across many sectors of the law (including private practice, inhouse, in the judicial branch of government and for a not-for- profit organisation as a volunteer solicitor and migration agent) rendering her an exceptionally well-rounded practitioner, versed in all manner of disputes, and their resolution.

In 2021, Beth sought to elevate her existing expertise in dispute settlement, and imbue it with a more international flavour, by embarking on the Master of Laws (International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution) programme at National University of Singapore (NUS). On the strength of her results at NUS, she was one of three students selected by NUS for its double degree programme with the University of Geneva, pursuant to which she will complete one semester of the Masters in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) and graduate with Master of Laws degrees from both universities.

In addition to her Asian experience, Beth also studied for one year in Madrid, Spain, as part of her undergraduate degree. She has continued her Spanish studies and was recently awarded the B2 DELE qualification. She also holds a PLIDA B1 certificate in Italian.
