Aditya is an Indian qualified lawyer enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi. Prior to joining the MIDS, he worked for two years in an advisory role with the Government of India's Centre for Trade and Investment Law - a dedicated pool of in-house legal experts constituted to assist the Government of India in international trade law and international investment law issues. While there, he assisted the Indian government on several trade disputes at the WTO and investment arbitration. He also participated with the Government of India during the negotiations of several regional and free trade agreements.Aditya has pursued his academic interests in international law by managing the South Asia International Economic Law Network - a network of academicians and practitioners encouraging scholarship on trade and investment law in the South Asian context. As the Joint Secretary of the Network, he has successfully conceptualised and organised multiple panel discussions and conferences on cutting-edge issues of international economic laws.Aditya graduated from the National Law University Odisha, Cuttack (B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)). During his time at the law school, he participated in various moot court competitions. He represented his university for two years consecutively at the international rounds of the 57th and 58th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (Jessup), where his team finished as Octo-Finalists (Top 16) and Semi-Finalists (Top 4). He was consistently placed among the top oralists at the national and international rounds of the Jessup. As a law student, he also interned with the Ministry of External Affairs (Legal & Treaties Division), Government of India where he researched on various issues of the law of the seas and public international law.
