Mariona is a qualified lawyer in Spain with experience in international development projects.
Prior to joining the MIDS, she worked for the UN advising governments and organizing global conferences and training workshops on trade and sustainable development issues. She has worked and published in relation to issues such as BioTrade, ABS and the Nagoya Protocol, oceans economy, national product export reviews, and organic agriculture and tourism. Mariona also worked with the European Delegation to UNOG assisting in numerous multinational negotiations on trade and development issues.
Mariona studied law in Spain and has an LL.M. in International Economic Law and Policy (IELPO) from the University of Barcelona. She speaks fluently Spanish, Catalan, English and French.
