Elif, a Turkish-qualified lawyer, is a candidate for the LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS). She obtained her LL.B. in Istanbul, graduating from Galatasaray University Law School. Additionally, she pursued an LL.M. degree in private law at the same institution, with her thesis focusing on international investment arbitration.
Prior to enrolling in the MIDS program, Elif served as an associate in a distinguished Istanbul-based law firm specializing in international dispute resolution. Her professional focus encompassed international commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, and commercial litigation. During this period, she provided legal counsel to major local and international companies regarding construction, infrastructure, shipping, manufacturing, and banking sectors, offering comprehensive assistance on a diverse array of legal matters. Additionally, she undertook several summer internships in various law firms, thereby accumulating extensive experience across multiple domains, including intellectual property, human rights, and corporate law.
During her undergraduate studies, she attained success in the Willem C. Vis Moot Competition, ranking among the top 32 teams. Subsequently, she has been actively coaching the Galatasaray University team. In addition to her commercial focus, Elif participated in the Jean-Pictet Competition, gaining insights into international humanitarian law.
Furthermore, she serves as an executive committee member of the Istanbul Very Young Arbitration Practitioners, aiming to foster connections between eminent and emerging practitioners, primarily through organizing seminars, networking events, and collaborations with esteemed institutions.
