Daniela Carvalho Meira is a Brazilian qualified lawyer and an Associate in the civil litigation and arbitration team at Fux Advogados, in Rio de Janeiro. Her professional experience includes representing clients in a wide range of complex disputes, with a particular focus on the energy, mining, and finance sectors.
Prior to joining the MIDS, she worked as a research assistant at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, where she acted before the Frankfurt am Main and the London teams. There, she conducted extensive legal research to develop strategies and arguments in preparation for an ICC arbitration arising out of a failed M&A transaction in Brazil. Additionally, she completed various legal internships during her undergraduate studies and actively participated in moot courts, both in Brazil and Germany.
Daniela obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora in 2020, a Diploma in German and international arbitration from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in 2021 and was awarded a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the Universität Passau in 2022, with focus on German private law and international arbitration.
She is a member of several international arbitration networks, such as the Young ICCA, DIS40, CIArb Brazil Branch, CJA Committee and Brazil Very Young Arbitration Practitioners.
Daniela is fluent in Portuguese and English, has an intermediate level of German and Spanish, and is currently learning French.
