Biography

Luis Serrano is a Paraguayan-qualified lawyer with more than five years of experience in commercial and investment arbitration, as well as in civil litigation.

As part of Altra Legal, one of the most recognized arbitration firms in his country, he has actively worked as counsel and assistant of arbitral tribunals under the rules of the ICC, ICSID, PCA, Chamber of Commerce of Lima, Chamber of Commerce and Services of Paraguay (CAMP), and one ad hoc case. His practice has been diverse, dealing with arbitrations on telecommunication, distribution, mining and oil, trusts, breeding, and Property Law. However, his focus has been on construction arbitration cases, primarily based on FIDIC contracts.

Since 2020, Luis has given lectures on Contract Law and Obligations at the National University of Asuncion Law School in Paraguay, whose arbitration team he coaches in different international moot competitions.
