Biography

Maria Rosario is an Argentinean lawyer with over 6 years of litigation experience. She specializes in public international law, investment arbitration, regulatory and energy matters, and has been actively involved in several investor-state arbitration proceedings.

Before joining the MIDS as a CIDS scholar, Rosario worked as legal counsel in international disputes at the National Directorate of International Affairs and Disputes of the Argentine Treasury Attorney’s General Office. Her previous professional experience includes working as an associate in the regulatory and energy department of a top-three law firm in Buenos Aires and as a Law Clerk at a First Instance Court for Contentious Administrative and Tax Proceedings.

She graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) where she specialized in public international law and regulatory law. She completed a postgraduate course in International Trade Law & Policy from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and is a master’s candidate in International Relations at the UBA.

Rosario is part of the teaching staff at UBA’s Law School in seminars related to public international law. She has represented the UBA in two international law competitions and coached several teams. Rosario has also published articles and participated in research projects related to public international law and investment arbitration in Latin America. She is a member of Argentina Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (AVYAP) organization and UBA’s International Arbitration and Foreign Investment Law Observatory.
