Biography

Kiai Gachanja is a Kenyan lawyer who is currently an LLM candidate at the MIDS, specializing in International Dispute Settlement. Previously, he undertook his traineeship at Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews, working on litigation and commercial matters. He completed his undergraduate law degree at Strathmore University and proceeded to do his pre-bar exam at the Kenya School of Law. Kiai has been awarded high accolades in moot court competitions, most notably the John H Jackson Moot Court Competition where his team was African Champions. In August 2022, he was a panellist at the Annual Conference of the African Society of International Law. Additionally, he has been a Regional Representative at the AfronomicsLaw Academic Forum and is currently a Co-Chair of The Trade Interest Group of the African Society of International Law. In his free time, Kiai loves travelling.
