Rodrigo is a Guatemalan lawyer and current candidate at the MIDS. Within his master studies, he has specialized in international commercial arbitration and further developed his interest in the third-party funding industry and the securities market, which comprise the main subject of his master thesis under the supervision of Prof. Kaufmann-Kohler.
Prior to joining the MIDS, he worked for two years in a private legal practice as an associate for the IP-specialized firm Palacios & Asociados in Guatemala. During this stage, he mostly worked in international transactions involving beverages and consumer goods companies, as well as in IP consulting involving pharmaceutical multinationals.
Throughout his bachelor and master studies, Rodrigo has been involved in several national and international moot court competitions as participant, coach, or arbitrator, including the South American Moot by UBA/Rosario, the FDI Moot, the Vis Moot, and Moot Madrid, among others.
He is an English-Spanish sworn translator and has years of experience in the translation of both scientific and legal documents.
